COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WITH FRIENDS OF MELTON BOTANIC GARDENS

LEVEL CROSSING REMOVALS (link)

Assessed all LXRA projects at Melton (x5) to ensure best outcomes for community of Melton.

EARLY LEARNING CENTRES

Four early centres were built with my oversight as a PWG member with involvement throughout construction to facilitate design excellence and provide support to multiple project managers. I supported the consultant and collaborated on many of the features and assisted the PM to deliver it with multiple value management rounds. The outcome for learning is high on this project and the inclusion of mature trees to reflect the architectural detailing enhanced the ELC presence both internally and externally

COBBLEBANK ACTIVITY CENTRE (including Hospital and Community Hub, LXRA)

Due to the extensive development in the growth corridor Cobblebank as a new Activity Centre has undergone rapid change in the last 6 years and i have been involved at the initial phases of some significant "once in generation" infrastructure projects gaining detailed understanding of political projects and the multiple Authourities that implement these State and Federally funded projects. Design Inc. designed the 5-storey community hub with Meltons first underground carpark to ensure that the construction of a sea of carparking did not alienate the people using building. These recommendations were part of the PWG that oversaw initial designs.

TOOLERN CREEK REGIONAL PARK

Grant funding for Melton to implement on behalf of ParksVic a suit of works that was extremely complex due to the 3 overlapping Precinct Structure Plans, Indigenous Heritage, Heritage Victoria Site, Volcanic Grasslands, with endangered Flora and Fauna overlays. Despite this the Grant was acquitted  and praised by DEECA and ParksVic in December 2026. Though starting in 2020 as COVID began with some serious delays the successful construction was done with minimal impact to indigenous artifacts, flora and fauna and increased amenity for local residents (with a new pedestrian bridge to be built in next 2 years).

HARKNESS CEMETERY, MASTERPLAN , STAGE 1

New Greater Metropolitan Cemetery Trust project to support the future population that will rapidly increase. Due to the work with the Melton Cemetery Project I was also included in the initial meetings to develop this site and the early analysis and risk assessment workshops.
